What is HOTTR Fitness?

​HOTTR Fitness is an innovative fitness studio that combines infrared heat technology with effective, dynamic and functional workouts designed to help you burn calories, improve cardiovascular health, increase flexibility, and support overall wellness. The studio is founded by Monique Crous, the creator of the original Hot HIIT®.

What is Infrared Heat?

​Infrared heat safely warms the body directly rather than simply heating the air around you. This creates a comfortable workout environment that promotes circulation, detoxification, recovery, and increased calorie expenditure while helping you achieve a deeper sweat. Infrared heat is safe and has been used for decades in wellness and fitness settings. Our classes are carefully monitored, and temperatures are designed to provide a challenging yet comfortable workout experience. ​What are the Benefits of Infrared Workouts?

Infrared heat training helps:

  • Increase calorie burn

How Hot is the Workout Room?

Our studio is typically maintained between 97°F and 100°F during the workout. The infrared heat creates a comfortable environment that feels different from traditional heated rooms.

How Many Calories Can I Burn During a Class?

​Calorie burn varies based on age, weight, fitness level, workout intensity, and individual metabolism. Many members report significant calorie expenditure during our infrared fitness sessions. You can burn anywhere between 500 - 1000 calories in one class. 

Do I Need Prior Fitness Experience?

No. HOTTR Fitness welcomes all fitness levels. You should seek to build strength and endurance over time - but it all starts with the first class! With each class you will get stronger and more flexible even if you find your first few classes to be very difficult to follow. It’s all about showing up. Our instructors provide low-impact modifications and progressions so both beginners and experienced athletes can safely participate and achieve results together.

Is HOTTR Fitness Suitable for Seniors?

Many of our classes can be adapted for active older adults. Low-impact modifications are provided. We recommend speaking with one of our expert instructors and your healthcare provider if you have specific health concerns.

How Often Should I Attend Classes?

This is completely up to you and your lifestyle. Most members see the best results by attending 3-5 classes per week while maintaining proper nutrition, hydration, and recovery practices.

How Can I Prepare for a Class?

It is best to prepare for a class by drinking lots of water during the day before your class and even the night before. We recommend about 32oz (1 liter) of water long before class. Hydration should happen well before you arrive to class. Drinking too much water right before the class or during will only fill your belly and slow you down. What Should I Wear to Class?

It's best to wear light weight, moisture-wicking workout clothes. We recommend fitted leggings or loose shorts and tank tops or a sports bra that lets you move freely. Shoes and sneakers are not permitted. No matter the time of year, the infrared heat will always make the studio feel like summer, so skip the heavy cotton. What Should I Bring to Class?

We recommend bringing:

  • A water bottle

  • A large towel

  • An additional towel for your shower or car ride home

  • Comfortable workout clothing

  • A yoga mat

No sweat if you forget! Water, mats and towels are available for purchase or rental at the studio.

How Early Should I Arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your first class. This allows time for introduction, check-in and a quick studio tour. After your first visit, you are welcome to arrive 5-10 mins before class time to just quickly check-in and store your belongings. All classes start on time. If you are late to class, your spot may be given away to someone else. 

Are there Showers Available?

There are no showers available at the Darien studio. Only locker rooms for changing and storing your belongings.

At the Lake Worth Beach, FL studio, showers and locker rooms are available for use before and after class. 

How Clean is the Hot Room?

We pride ourselves on our cleanliness. Our studios are cleaned, mopped and sanitized in between each class and deep cleaned by professionals once per week. Kindly bring it to our attention if anything in our studio does not meet your standards.

How Do I Sign Up for a Class?

You can sign up for any class directly on our website. Just visit the schedule page for the studio location closest to you. You can also arrive at the studio to register in person however please be aware, classes may be filled to capacity from online bookings. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before class time to ensure enough time to register.

Where are HOTTR studios located?

We currently have two locations. Our original flagship studio is located in Darien, Connecticut. Our newest studio is located in the Lake Worth Beach area of Palm Beach, Florida. See addresses below:
